Variables
Hermit Warbler
Occurred the most disproportionately in western Oregon hexagons
with varied topography and some freshwater habitat or, secondarily,
more than 7% Douglas-fir - w. hemlock - red cedar forest. In the
eastern part of its Oregon range, its distribution corresponded mostly
with a relatively cool July maximum temperature (hex. med.) of 20-24
C, or slightly warmer areas if more than 2% lakes/reservoirs present.
The logistic regression analysis showed positive or negative
association with mixed conifer forest (Douglas-fir dominant), Douglas-
fir - w. hemlock - red cedar forest, Sitka spruce - w. hemlock maritime
forest, elevation (hex. avg.), April precipitation (hex. avg.), July
precipitation (hex. avg.), the extent of public land, and-to a lesser
degree-June precipitation (hex. med.), July minimum temperature
(hex. max.), and July precipitation (hex. med.).
